Editorial: Children’s action on climate change

Peter Limbrick writes: It began with Greta Thunberg in August 2018. She began camping outside the Swedish parliament accusing politicians of failing to uphold their commitments to fight climate change as agreed in the Paris climate accord.

Now children all around the world are following her lead. They speak with urgency and integrity – qualities many of our politicians seem to lack.

The next day of action is Friday March 15th.

Now that my generation has brought the world to this dangerous place, what responsibility do we have to our children as they bravely assume responsibility for the future of the world?

  • First, to listen to them
  • Second, to help them get good information appropriate to their age
  • Third, to advise them how to stay safe as they protest

I wish them all success.
